UAE economic zone group

AD Ports Group has created a new entity as part of a push to grow its economic cities and free zones offering.

Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi and Specialised Economic Zones have been integrated into the newly formed KEZAD Group (Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi Group).

“KEZAD Group is now responsible for the largest integrated trade, logistics and industrial hub in the region and is the largest operator of purpose-built economic zones and workers residential cities in the United Arab Emirates,” said Mohamed Al Khadar Al Ahmad, chief executive, KEZAD Group.

“We will deploy this enhanced scale to fully support strategic industries and enable sustainable diversification and growth.”

KEZAD now comprises 12 economic zones with a total area of 550 square kilometers, including 100 square kilometers designated as free zones and more than 300,000 square meters of prebuilt warehouse facilities.

Hosting more than 1,750 clients catering to a range of key industries, KEZAD Group will be responsible for managing the planning, developing, operating, regulating, and promoting of combined assets under the AD Ports Group’s Economic Cities & Free Zones portfolio, that makes up 55% of the UAE’s industrial area.

The Group aims to offer a more competitive choice of locations, greater pricing options and quality of infrastructure by unifying processes and service delivery.

In addition, KEZAD Group will invest in dedicated infrastructure such as enhanced gas networks for metal and other heavy industries, and wholesale marketplaces for food and automotives.
